Subject:Automatic Climate Control Does Not Maintain Set Temperature or Blower Motor Speed Stays Too High (Reconnect Aspirator Hose)

Models:2004-2005 Buick LeSabre
2004-2005 Pontiac Bonneville
with Automatic Temperature Control HVAC System (RPO CJ2)

Condition

Some customers may comment that the Automatic Temperature Control Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system does not maintain the set temperature inside the vehicle. Others may comment that the Blower Motor stays on high speed for too long.

Cause

This condition may be caused by a disconnected aspirator hose at the aspirator assembly on the HVAC module.

Correction

Technicians are to reconnect the aspirator hose to the aspirator assembly on the HVAC module. Refer to the Aspirator Replacement procedure in SI for more information (Document ID #471949). If the aspirator hose is already connected to the aspirator, or the customer concern is not fixed by this repair, then technicians are to refer to the Diagnostic Starting Point-Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning procedure for further diagnostic information (SI Document ID #663933).
