ASHTRAY DOOR REPLACEMENT INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1984 Pontlac Fiero

Some comments have been received on ashtray doors being easily broken during installation/removal. This is due to improper installation/removal procedure. The following procedure must be followed:

1. Remove tne trim plate from the console. Remove the ashtray door from the bottom of trim plate assembly. See the illustration Fig. A.

2. Make sure the 'lead' on the tab is aligned with the pin, then install the door.

3. Attach the spring after the door is assembled.

4. Install the trimplate to the console.
