CRUISE CONTROL SURGE TRANSDUCER REPAIR

Subject: CRUISE CONTROL SURGE ON 1982 FIREBIRDS WITH 5.OL V-8 ENGINES (VIN CODES H AND 7)

Bulletin 82-T-77 instructs dealers to replace (with zone approval) the cruise control transducer (part number 25030560) with the later production transducer (part number 25031907) on vehicles that cannot be corrected with the adjustment procedure outlined.

If this situation is encountered the transducer should now be repaired rather than replaced. AC-Delco Service Centers are now capable (per AC-Delco bulletin 3D-37-1) of remanufacturing a 25030560 transducer, converting it to a 25031907 transducer.
