Filler Tube Replacement LT1

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 165292  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fluid level indicator.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.

  3. Object Number: 165296  Size: SH
  4. Remove the transmission bolt attaching the fill tube to the transmission.
  5. Loosen the fill tube from the transmission.
  6. Place a drain pan under the transmission.
  7. Lower the vehicle.

  9. Pull the fill tube and the seal from the top of the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seal and the fill tube through the top of the vehicle.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.

  3. Object Number: 165576  Size: SH
  4. Insert the seal into the automatic transmission case hole.
  5. Install the fill tube to the transmission.

  6. Object Number: 165296  Size: SH
  7. Install the bolt attaching the fill tube to the transmission.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Lower the vehicle.
