Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission oil pan and the filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement

  2. Object Number: 14464  Size: SH
  3. Remove the accumulator cover bolts.
  4. Remove the 1-2 accumulator cover.

  5. Object Number: 14467  Size: SH
  6. Remove the 1-2 accumulator piston.
  7. Remove the piston springs.

  8. Object Number: 49313  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the transmission pressure switch electrical connector.

  10. Object Number: 49311  Size: SH
  11. Disconnect the 1-2 shift solenoid electrical connector.

  12. Object Number: 49310  Size: SH
  13. Disconnect the 2-3 shift solenoid electrical connector.

  14. Object Number: 49307  Size: SH
  15. Disconnect the pressure control solenoid electrical connector.

  16. Object Number: 49303  Size: SH
  17. Disconnect the TCC control solenoid electrical connector.

  18. Object Number: 49297  Size: SH
  19. Disconnect the wiring harness and the solenoid electrical connector.

  21. Disconnect the 3-2 control solenoid electrical connector.

  23. Remove the TCC PWM solenoid retainer clip.
  24. Remove the TCC PWM solenoid.

  26. Remove the TCC solenoid bolts.

  27. Object Number: 7747  Size: SH
  28. Remove the TCC solenoid.
  29. Remove the wiring harness. Lay the wiring harness aside.

  31. Remove the pressure control solenoid retainer bolt.

  33. Remove the pressure control solenoid retainer.

  35. Remove the pressure control solenoid.

  37. Remove the shift solenoid retainers.
  38. Remove the shift solenoids.

  40. Remove the 3-2 control solenoid retainer.
  41. Remove the 3-2 control solenoid.

  43. Remove the control valve body bolt.
  44. Remove the dipstick stop bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 5445  Size: SH
  1. Install the control valve body bolt.
  2. Install the dipstick stop bracket.

  3. Object Number: 13886  Size: SH
  4. Install the 3-2 control solenoid.
  5. Install the 3-2 control solenoid retainer.

  6. Object Number: 13884  Size: SH
  7. Install the shift solenoids.
  8. Install the shift solenoid retainers.

  9. Object Number: 13883  Size: SH
  10. Install the pressure control solenoid. Ensure that the electrical tabs are facing outboard.

  11. Object Number: 13880  Size: SH
  12. Install the pressure control solenoid retainer.

  13. Object Number: 13876  Size: SH
  14. Install the pressure control solenoid retainer bolt.

  15. Object Number: 7747  Size: SH
  16. Install the wiring harness.
  17. Install the TCC solenoid.

  18. Object Number: 14471  Size: SH
  19. Install the TCC solenoid bolts.

  20. Object Number: 7749  Size: SH
  21. Install the TCC PWM solenoid.
  22. Install the TCC PWM solenoid retainer clip.

  23. Object Number: 49277  Size: SH
  24. Connect the 3-2 control solenoid electrical connector.

  25. Object Number: 49297  Size: SH
  26. Connect the wiring harness and the solenoid electrical connector.

  27. Object Number: 49303  Size: SH
  28. Connect the TCC control solenoid electrical connector.

  29. Object Number: 49307  Size: SH
  30. Connect the pressure control solenoid electrical connector.

  31. Object Number: 49310  Size: SH
  32. Connect the 2-3 shift solenoid electrical connector.

  33. Object Number: 49311  Size: SH
  34. Connect the 1-2 shift solenoid electrical connector.

  35. Object Number: 49313  Size: SH
  36. Connect the 1-2 shift solenoid electrical connector.

  38. Install the 1-2 accumulator piston to the accumulator cover. Ensure that the piston legs face toward the case.
  39. Install the 1-2 accumulator springs onto the piston.

  40. Object Number: 14464  Size: SH
  41. Install the 1-2 accumulator cover.
  42. Install the 1-2 accumulator cover bolts.
  43. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  44. Install the transmission oil pan and the filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement
