For 1990-2009 cars only
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  2. Support the vehicle with safety stands.
  3. Clean all the dirt and all the oil from around the oil fill plug.

  4. Object Number: 33380  Size: SH
  5. Remove the oil fill plug.

  6. Object Number: 2327  Size: SH
  7. Check that the transmission fluid level is even with the bottom of the fill plug hole.
  8. Notice: Use only DEXRON®-III Automatic Transmission Lubricant for this manual transmission assembly. Other lubricants or additives may damage the blocker ring friction material or the adhesives.

  9. Install new transmission lubricant if required. Refer to Lubrication Specifications .

  10. Object Number: 33380  Size: SH
  11. Install the oil fill plug.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the oil fill plug to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  13. Remove the safety stands.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
