Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission oil pan and filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement

  2. Object Number: 49313  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the transmission pressure switch electrical connector.

  4. Object Number: 49311  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the 1-2 shift solenoid electrical connector.

  6. Object Number: 49310  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the 2-3 shift solenoid electrical connector.

  8. Object Number: 49307  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the pressure control solenoid electrical connector.

  10. Object Number: 49303  Size: SH
  11. Disconnect the TCC control solenoid electrical connector.

  12. Object Number: 49297  Size: SH
  13. Disconnect the wiring harness and the solenoid electrical connector.

  14. Object Number: 49277  Size: SH
  15. Disconnect the 3-2 control solenoid electrical connector.

  16. Object Number: 14471  Size: SH
  17. Remove the torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid bolts.

  18. Object Number: 7747  Size: SH
  19. Remove the TCC solenoid from the transmission case.
  20. Remove the wiring harness bolts. Lay the wiring harness aside.

  21. Object Number: 7745  Size: SH
  22. Remove the transmission fluid pressure switch bolts.
  23. Remove the transmission fluid pressure switch.

  24. Object Number: 13895  Size: SH
  25. Remove the manual shift detent spring bolt.
  26. Remove the manual shift detent spring.

  27. Object Number: 5445  Size: SH
  28. Remove the remaining control valve body bolts.

  29. Object Number: 7742  Size: SH
  30. Remove the manual valve link.

  31. Object Number: 5445  Size: SH
  32. Remove the control valve body.
  33. Inspect the control valve body.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Torque valve body bolts in a spiral pattern starting from the center. If the bolts are torqued at random, valve bores may be distorted and inhibit valve operation.

  1. Install the control valve body.

  2. Object Number: 7742  Size: SH
  3. Install the manual valve link.

  4. Object Number: 5445  Size: SH
  5. Install the control valve body bolts.

  6. Object Number: 13895  Size: SH
  7. Install the manual shift detent spring.
  8. Install the manual shift detent spring bolt.

  9. Object Number: 7745  Size: SH
  10. Install the transmission fluid pressure switch.
  11. Install the transmission fluid pressure switch bolts.

  12. Object Number: 7747  Size: SH
  13. Install the wiring harness.
  14. Install the wiring harness bolts.
  15. Install the TCC solenoid.
  16. Install the TCC solenoid O-ring seal.

  17. Object Number: 14471  Size: SH
  18. Install the TCC solenoid bolts.

  19. Object Number: 49277  Size: SH
  20. Disconnect the 3-2 control solenoid electrical connector.

  21. Object Number: 49297  Size: SH
  22. Disconnect the wiring harness and the solenoid electrical connector.

  23. Object Number: 49303  Size: SH
  24. Disconnect the TCC control solenoid electrical connector.

  25. Object Number: 49307  Size: SH
  26. Disconnect the pressure control solenoid electrical connector.

  27. Object Number: 49310  Size: SH
  28. Disconnect the 2-3 shift solenoid electrical connector.

  29. Object Number: 49311  Size: SH
  30. Disconnect the 1-2 shift solenoid electrical connector.

  31. Object Number: 49313  Size: SH
  32. Disconnect the transmission pressure switch electrical connector.
  33. Tighten
    Tighten all the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  34. Install the transmission oil pan and the filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement
