Important: The crankshaft balancer is balanced as an individual component. It is not necessary to mark the balancer position prior to removal. Do not reuse the crankshaft balancer bolts. Install a NEW crankshaft balancer bolt during final assembly.

1. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
3. Remove the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.



4. Remove the right closeout cover and bolt.



5. Unsnap the oil cooler lines from the clip at the generator.



6. Remove the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator.
7. Remove the power steering cooler, if equipped. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Cooler Replacement in Steering.



8. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal .

1. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Installation .
2. Install the power steering cooler, if removed. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Cooler Replacement in Steering.



3. Install the transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator.

Tighten
Tighten the oil cooler line connections to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).




4. Snap the oil cooler lines into the clip at the generator.



5. Install the right closeout cover and bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the closeout cover bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

6. Install the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement .
7. Lower the vehicle.



8. Install the A/C drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
