- Adjust the release switch (1) at the same time
the stoplamp and torque converter clutch (TCC) is adjusted.
Use the following procedure in order to adjust the cruise control switch:
- Depress the brake pedal or the clutch pedal.
Insert the switch into the pedal bracket until the retainer is fully
seated on the switch:

2.2. | The stoplamp and TCC switch |
2.3. | The clutch switch or the clutch anticipate switch |
- Slowly pull the brake or clutch pedal rearward with a force of
222 Nยทm (50 lb) until click sounds are not heard.
The switch retainers will be in their original positions.
- Ensure that the following contacts open at 25.4 mm (1 in)
or less of pedal travel:
4.1. | The release switch (1) |
4.2. | The stoplamp and TCC switch |
- Ensure that the switches open simultaneously or before the onset
of braking.
- The brake pedal may travel up to 25.4 mm (1 in)
before the cruise control system disengages.
