Removal Procedure
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Support the rear axle (2) with an adjustable lifting device.
- Remove the bolt 6) and nut (8) from the left-hand rear axle bracket.
- Remove the bolts (7) from the left-hand under body brace bracket (1).
- Remove the bolts (10) and nuts (9) from the right-hand underbody brace bracket (3).
- Remove the rear axle tie rod (5).
- Remove the rear axle tie rod upper brace (4).
Installation Procedure
- Position the rear axle tie rod upper brace (4) to the right-hand upper body brace bracket (3).
- Hand tighten the upper bolt (10) and nut (9) to the right-hand underbody brace bracket (3).
- Position the rear axle tie rod (5) to the right-hand underbody brace bracket (3).
- Hand tighten the lower bolt (10) and nut (9) to the right-hand underbody brace bracket (3).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the bolts (7) to the left-hand underbody brace bracket (1).
Tighten
• | Tighten the bolts and screws (7) to 47 N·m (35 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the nuts (9) to 82 N·m (61 lb ft). |
- Install the bolt (6) and nut (8) to the left-hand rear axle bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the nut (8) to 82 N·m (61 lb ft).
- Remove the rear axle support.
- Lower the vehicle.
