The steering wheel is loose.

Inspect the steering column for the following conditions:

•	Excessive clearance between the holes in the housing or housing support and the pivot pin diameters

•	A damaged anti-lash spring in the spheres

•	A missing anti-lash spring in the spheres

•	The steering shaft upper bearing is not seated in the housing

•	A missing steering shaft upper bearing inner race

•	Loose housing support bolts/screws

•	A missing bearing preload spring

•	A broken bearing preload spring
