Endgate Latch Replacement Coupe
Removal Procedure
- Open the window panel.
- Remove the rear compartment trim as needed. Refer to
Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Disconnect the rear compartment lid release switch electrical
connector. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Switch Replacement
.
- Disconnect the rear compartment lid lock release actuator secondary
lock retainer and electrical connector. Refer to
Liftgate Lock Actuator Replacement
.
- Remove the endgate latch
bolts (1).
- Remove the latch (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the latch (2).
Align the holes in the latch with the holes in support.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the endgate
latch bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the rear compartment lid lock release actuator electrical
connector and secondary lock retainer. Refer to
Liftgate Lock Actuator Replacement
.
- Install the rear compartment trim. Refer to
Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement
.
Endgate Latch Replacement Folding Top
Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment
lid.
- Use a grease pencil to mark the location of the rear compartment
lid latch to the rear compartment lid.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear compartment
lid latch.
- Disconnect the lock cylinder actuator cable from the lock cylinder.
- Remove the rear compartment lid latch to rear compartment lid
nuts.
- Remove the rear compartment lid latch from the rear compartment
lid.
Installation Procedure
- Position the rear compartment lid latch
to the alignment marks on the rear compartment lid.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring

Tighten the rear compartment lid latch to rear compartment lid nuts
to 10 N·m (89 lb in)
- Connect the electrical connectors to the rear compartment lid
latch.
- Connect the lock cylinder actuator cable to the lock cylinder.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
