For 1990-2009 cars only
- Remove the eight bolts and the one nut which secure the timing belt cover.
- Remove the timing belt cover (12).
- Align the upper timing marks (1,2).
- Align the lower timing mark on the oil pump cover (1) and on the lower timing belt sprocket (2).
- Loosen the timing belt tensioner bolt (2) and the stud (1).
- After lifting the tensioner plate (1) with your finger, remove the belt from the crankshaft timing belt pulley and from the camshaft timing belt pulley
Important: Before removing the timing belt, align the upper timing marks and the lower timing marks by turning the crankshaft.
