Did you perform the Starting System Check?

  1. Connect a digital multimeter across the battery terminals.
  2. Measure the voltage while cranking the engine.

Is the voltage equal to or greater than 9.6 volts?

Go to Step 3

Go to Battery Load Test

  1. Connect a digital multimeter between the negative battery terminal and the engine block.
  2. Measure the voltage while cranking the engine.

Is the voltage less than 0.5 volts?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

  1. Connect a digital multimeter between the positive battery terminal and the starter solenoid terminal B.
  2. Measure the voltage while cranking the engine.

Is the voltage less than 0.5 volts?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair or replace the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement and Starter Motor Overhaul .

Is the repair complete?
