Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement 1.0L
Removal Procedure
Important: Note the correct routing of the wires prior to removal in order to maintain
the correct engine firing order. Incorrect routing to the distributor cap
will cause an engine misfire. Incorrect routing, or incorrect clearance to
engine parts may cause an engine misfire or damage to the wires.
- Carefully remove the spark plug wires from the wire retainers.
Important: Do not pull on the spark plug wire. Internal damage may result.
- Grasp the spark plug wire boot (2) and twist 1 half turn in each direction
in order to release the boot.
- Remove the spark plug
wires from the spark plugs .
- Remove the spark plug and the coil wires from the distributor
cap.
- Remove the coil wire from the ignition coil.
Installation Procedure
- Install the coil wire
to ignition coil.
- Install the spark plug and the coil wires to the distributor cap.
- Route the spark plug wires as previously noted and carefully insert
them into the secondary wire retainers.
- Connect the spark plug wires (1) to the spark plugs.

Removal Procedure
Important: Note the correct routing of the wires prior to removal. Incorrect routing
may cause the engine to misfire and/or damage to the wires.
- Carefully release the number 1 spark plug wire from the clip on the
number 2-3 ignition coil.
Important: Do not pull on the spark plug wire. Internal damage may result.
- Grasp the spark plug boot and twist 1 half turn in each direction in
order to release the boot.
- Remove the spark plug wire from the number 1 spark plug
and the number 1-4 ignition coil.
- Remove the spark plug wire from the number 3 spark plug
and the number 2-3 ignition coil.
Installation Procedure
- Install the spark plug
wire to the number 3 spark plug and the number 2-3 ignition
coil.
- Install the spark plug wire to the number 1 spark plug
and the number 1-4 ignition coil.
- Carefully secure the number 1 spark plug wire in the clip on the
number 2-3 ignition coil.
