Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 229589  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the 2 fuel vapor hoses from the fuel vapor separator.
  4. Remove the screw and the fuel vapor separator from the fuel tank.

Installation Procedure

  1. Align the notch in the fuel vapor separator with the hole in the fuel tank.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fuel vapor separator to the fuel tank, and secure the fuel vapor separator with the screw.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.2-2.0 N·m (11-18 lb in).

  5. Connect the 2 fuel vapor hoses, and secure the hoses with the 2 clamps.
  6. Install the fuel tank to the vehicle. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
