Removal Procedure

Notice: The EVAP canister may have released carbon particles which caused this part to fail and may cause damage to other components. Check the EVAP canister for loose carbon before returning the vehicle to service.

  1. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 239874  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the EVAP-canister vent solenoid (2).
  4. Disconnect the 2 vapor hoses from the EVAP-canister vent solenoid (2).
  5. Remove the 1 screw and the EVAP-canister vent solenoid (2) from the EVAP canister (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 240258  Size: SH
  1. Align the tab on the EVAP-canister vent solenoid to the slot on the EVAP canister.

  2. Object Number: 239874  Size: SH
  3. Secure the EVAP-canister vent solenoid (2) to the EVAP canister (1) with the screw.
  4. Connect the 2 vapor hoses to the EVAP-canister vent solenoid (2).
  5. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the EVAP-canister vent solenoid (2).
  6. Install the fuel tank to the vehicle. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
