Removal Procedure
- Remove the right wheel drive shaft assembly from the vehicle.

- Remove the 3 bolts
from the intermediate shaft bearing arbor (1).
- Remove the intermediate shaft (2) from the transaxle.
- Inspect the intermediate shaft (2) and the intermediate shaft
bearing for rough operation, for excessive wear, or for damage. For disassembly

Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the intermediate
shaft (2) into the transaxle. Install the 3 bolts in order to retain
the intermediate shaft in the intermediate shaft bearing arbor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).
- Install the right wheel drive shaft assembly to the vehicle. Refer
