Did you perform the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) System Check

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Turn the light switch to OFF.
3. Using a J 39200 , backprobe the DRL control module from cavity 5 to ground.
4. Measure the voltage.

Is the voltage greater than the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

1. Using a J 39200 , backprobe the DRL control module connector from cavity 7 to B+.
2. Measure the voltage.

Is the voltage greater than the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in the BLK/WHT wire between the junction block and the DRL control module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) System Check

--

1. Disengage the parking brake.
2. Using a J 39200 , backprobe the DRL control module from cavity 3 to B+.
3. Measure the voltage.

Is the voltage greater than the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in the BLK wire between the DRL control module and G201. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) System Check

--

1. Start the engine.
2. Using a J 39200 , backprobe the DRL control module connector from cavity 4 to ground.
3. Measure the voltage.

Is the voltage greater than the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 12

Inspect for a short to ground in the PPL or the RED/YEL wire between the DRL control module and the parking brake switch.

Is the connection OK?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 13

Replace the parking brake switch. Refer to Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement in Park Brake.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) System Check

--

Inspect for a short to ground in the RED/WHT wire between the DRL control module and S104.

Is the connection OK?

--

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 13

Replace the DRL control module. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) System Check

--

Refer to the diagnosis of the charging system. Refer to Charging System Check in Engine Electrical.

Is the diagnosis complete?

--

Go to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) System Check

--

Repair the short to ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?
