The instrument cluster assembly includes the following gauges:

    • The speedometer/odometer
    • The engine coolant temperature gauge
    • The fuel gauge
    • The tachometer (if equipped)

These gauges are serviceable from the instrument cluster assembly. Refer to Speedometer Replacement , Engine Coolant Temperature Gage Replacement , Fuel Gage Replacement or Tachometer Replacement for removal and installation procedures.

The speedometer head consists of the following components:

    • The trip odometer
    • The total mileage odometer

The speedometer cable mechanically drives the following components:

    • The speedometer
    • The odometer

A vehicle speed sensor is attached to the back of the speedometer head. The vehicle speed sensor provides vehicle speed information to the powertrain control module (PCM). Automatic transaxle equipped vehicles have an additional vehicle speed sensor located at the top of the transaxle.

The instrument cluster assembly includes the following indicators:

    • AIRBAG
    • The oil pressure
    • The charging system
    • BRAKE
    • The seat belt
    • The hi-beam
    • The LH turn signal
    • The RH turn signal
    • The up-shift indicator (manual transaxle)
    • The daytime running lamps (DRL)
    • SERVICE ENGINE SOON
    • ABS
    • ABS ACTIVE

You can service the indicators from the rear of the instrument cluster assembly. For instrument cluster assembly service procedures, refer to Instrument Cluster Bulb Replacement . The instrument cluster assembly indicators may differ from model to model, depending on the options.
