The DOME fuse applies battery voltage at all times to the ignition key warning switch. When you insert the ignition key into the ignition cylinder, the ignition key warning switch closes, and sends a voltage signal to the audio alarm module. If you open the LH front door, the LH front door jamb closes and provides a ground signal to the audio alarm module. When the 2 signals are received, the audio alarm module activates the ignition key warning alarm (about 2 pulses per second). The alarm continues to sound until you remove the ignition key from the ignition cylinder, or you close the LH front door. The alarm stops if the audio alarm module receives an ignition ON signal from the IG-COIL fuse when the LH front door is open.
The headlamp warning alarm sounds if the light switch is in the PARK position or the HEAD position, with the ignition key removed from the ignition cylinder and the LH front door open. The TAIL fuse applies voltage at all times to the light 1 relay. When the light switch is in the PARK position or the HEAD position, ground is supplied to the coil of the light 1 relay. This energizes the coil and closes the contacts, allowing the light 1 relay to apply voltage to the audio alarm module. With the LH front door open, the LH front door jamb switch provides a ground signal to the audio alarm module. When the both signals are received, the audio alarm module activates the headlamp warning alarm (about 1 pulse per second). The alarm continues to sound until you perform 1 of the following steps:
• | Turn the light switch to the OFF position with the LH front door closed. |
• | Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. |
The seat belt warning alarm (about 2 pulses per second) activates when the following conditions are met:
• | The ignition switch is in the ON position. |
• | The LH front seat belt is unbuckled. |
The audio alarm module applies and monitors battery voltage across a fixed resistor to the seat belt switch. When the LH front seat belt is unbuckled, high voltage is applied and monitored at the audio alarm module. This indicates that the LH front seat belt is unbuckled. The alarm sounds for about 6 seconds if the front seat belt is not buckled. If the LH front seat belt is buckled while the audio alarm module sounds, the alarm stops.
The seat belt indicator works in conjunction with the seat belt warning alarm. The IG-COIL fuse applies ignition voltage to the seat belt indicator. If the LH front seat belt is unbuckled, G400 supplies ground through the closed contacts of the seat belt switch to the seat belt indicator. The seat belt indicator remains lit until the LH front seat belt is buckled.
