Did you perform the Audible Warnings System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Open the LH front door.
  3. Disconnect the audio alarm module connector.
  4. Connect a test lamp from connector cavity 6 of the audio alarm module to B+.

Does the test lamp light?

Connect a test lamp from connector cavity 5 of the audio alarm module to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the connector cavity for the left door jamb switch to B+.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Do not disconnect the test lamp.
  2. Disconnect the junction block connector C4.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 7

Replace the audio alarm module.

Is the repair complete?

Test the BLK/WHT wire for a short to B+ between connector C4 cavity 3 of the junction block, connector C3 cavity 11 of the instrument panel cluster assembly, and connector cavity 5 of the audio alarm module.

Is there a short to B+ in the BLK/WHT wire?

Replace the junction block.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in the BLK/BLU wire between the audio alarm module and the left door jamb switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect for a poor ground connection at the left door jamb switch.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the left door jamb switch.

Repair the short to B+ in the BLK/WHT wire. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the Instrument cluster printed circuit. Refer to Printed Instrument Cluster Circuit Replacement .
