The information in this section provides the body service
procedures that apply to the front doors and to the rear doors.
The service attaching screws may not contain a thread-locking compound.
Treat the threads of the fasteners with GM P/N 12345493 or with the
equivalent for the following reasons:
• | In order to prevent looseness of the service screws |
• | In order to renew the thread-locking characteristics of the production
screws |
Apply GM P/N 12345493 to the hardware attachment as a liquid.
Upon installation and upon tightening, the adhesive cures in order to bond
the attachment in order to prevent the following conditions:
The adhesive bond does not prevent future attachment removal if required.
The mechanical components of the door assembly are lubricated during
assembly. If additional lubrication is required, use the following lubricants:
• | Lubricate all door-lock cylinders with Multi-Purpose Lubricant
GM P/N 12346241 or with the equivalent. |
• | Lubricate the remainder of the door hardware mechanisms with GM P/N
1052196 Lubriplate Auto-lube A or with the equivalent. |
