The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Customers may comment the passenger doors do not unlock when turning the key in the driver door lock cylinder two times in the counter clockwise direction. It may also be noticed the trunk does not open when the key is turned a third time in the counter clockwise direction.
Recommendation/Instructions:
This feature was turned off in production beginning with VIN 54130502 (last 8) to prevent the condition described in Customer Satisfaction Campaign 04088. The Owners Manual should contain an insert replacing the page 2-9 to explain the revised operation of the power door locks.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
