Models:2004-2006 Chevrolet Malibu/Maxx
2005-2006 Pontiac G6
Equipped with EPS Steering Only



The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Note: This only applies to the Electronic Power Steering systems (EPS)

You might notice that after a front end alignment was performed on any of these vehicles that the steering wheel will intermittently "dither" from side to side. The EPS is searching for the " zero " or home position.

Recommendation/Instructions:

You are to re-calibrate the Steering wheel position sensor any time you make changes to the front steering system. (Alignments) This also may include any cradle adjustments that may have been done.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
