SMU - Addition of Park Brake Lever handle Replacement

This bulletin is being issued to add the Park Brake Lever Handle Replacement procedure in the Parking Brakes sub-section of the Service Manual.

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the park brake lever.
2. Pull the park brake lever boot from the park brake handle (1).
3. Using pliers, carefully grasp the park brake lever release button (2) and pull firmly to remove.
4. Grasp the park brake lever handle (1) and pull firmly while rotating the lever handle slightly to remove.
5. Inspect and carefully remove any debris remaining from the lever barbed retainer openings (3) along the park brake lever release rod.

Installation Procedure

1. Using care to protect the finish on the park brake lever handle (1), press the handle firmly onto the park brake lever until fully seated.
2. Press the park brake lever release button (2) into the lever until fully seated.
3. Position the park brake lever boot to the park brake lever handle.
4. Cycle the park brake lever several times to inspect for proper function.

Ensure the lever applies and releases smoothly.
