The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A software condition exists if the BCM was improperly setup or mis-configured. If it is mis-configured as a Manual Transmission vehicle it will cause the BCM to look for a park brake input before allowing the Retractable Hard Top to operate.
Note: The Retractable Hard Top G6 is only built with a Automatic Transmission.
Recommendation/Instructions:
You will have to go back into the option configuration of the BCM and select the correct transmission "Auto" and save options.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
