Subject:Convertible Top Is Inoperative With Code B367F

Models:2006-2007 Pontiac G6 Convertible (RHT)

This PI was superseded to update Recommendation/Instructions. Please discard PIC4152B.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

There are two condition that have been identified with the Retractable Hard Top (RHT) where the top will not cycle or starts to cycle closed and stops as it starts to come out of the trunk setting a B367F with 58 or 59 symptom codes. This switch is also known as (S13)

Recommendation/Instructions:

Condition #1

There is the possibility for the front roof panel dowel pin on the passenger side to lose its protective sleeve. This sleeve could come off of the pin and become lodged in the RH Downstack Receiver Switch (S13 switch - found in the forward/upper trunk area on the passenger side). If this occurs the sleeve will not allow the switch arm to toggle the switch when the pin comes out of the switch (while trying to cycle the top from the open - in the trunk position, to the closed position). The Folding Top Controller (FTC) will time out and not allow top operation until the switch is toggled (any time the FTC sees the incorrect switch sequence; it will time out and not allow top operation to protect the top from being damaged). Do Not Replace the FTC. Remove the sleeve from the switch which, allow the switch to toggle which, will allow the top function to resume. Replace the dowel pin on the front of the roof with a new one which, will come with the updated sleeve.

Condition #2 Switch (S13)

There is a possibility for the wiring harness to become pinched on the right side of the down stack receiver area (misrouted) This harness has a potential to be lying on top of the "Grenade Pin" and becomes pinched when the deck lid latches in the front. If you have this condition please repair the harness (if possible) and reroute it away from the grenade pin with a zip tie.

Important: For additional information on this issue please reference IDL Course Numbers 12442.10V and 10206.13D

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
