Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1787889 Size: SH
  1. If equipped with a 3.5L, 3.6L, or 3.9L engine, remove the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side and Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side.
  2. If equipped with a 2.4L engine remove the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement.
  3. Remove the heat shield nuts.
  4. Remove the heat shield.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1787889 Size: SH
  1. Position the heat shield to the underbody and the dash panel.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the heat shield nuts and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  3. If equipped with a 2.4L engine, install the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement.
  4. If equipped with a 3.5L, 3.6L, or 3.9L engine, install the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side and Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side.
