Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 G6 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 3.9L 🢒 Engine Oil Level Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1556785 Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the oil pan drain plug.
  3. Drain the crankcase.
  4. Reinstall the oil pan drain plug.

    5. Object Number: 1583198 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the engine oil level sensor electrical connector.

    6. Object Number: 1609235 Size: SH
  6. Remove the engine oil level sensor bolt and sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1609235 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine oil level sensor and bolt.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 1583198 Size: SH
  2. Connect the engine oil level sensor electrical connector.
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Refill the crankcase with new engine oil.
