Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1961270 Size: SH
  1. Remove the vacuum check valve (1) and hose assembly from the vacuum brake booster.

    2. Object Number: 1222406 Size: SH
  2. Remove the vacuum check valve (1) by releasing the clamp (2) and removing the vacuum hose (3).
  3. If replacing the vacuum check valve, remove the grommet (4) from the brake booster and discard the grommet.

    4. Object Number: 1222411 Size: SH
  4. If removing the vacuum hose, note the vacuum hose routing.
  5. Release the clamp (1) and remove the vacuum hose (2) from the manifold vacuum port (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1222411 Size: SH
  1. Position the clamp (1) on the vacuum hose (2).
  2. Install the vacuum hose to the manifold vacuum port (3).

    3. If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.


    Object Number: 1222406 Size: SH
  3. Install the vacuum check valve (1) by positioning the clamp (2) installing the vacuum hose (3).

    4. If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.

  4. Install the grommet (4) to the brake booster, if removed.

    5. Object Number: 1961270 Size: SH
  5. Install the vacuum check valve (1) and hose assembly to the vacuum brake booster.

    6. If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.
