Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1465932 Size: SH
  1. Apply tape to the corners of the adjacent surfaces.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  3. Remove the rear bumper energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement.
  4. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  5. Remove the push-in retainers from the center of the rear bumper extension lower.
  6. Remove the bolts from around the inside edge rear bumper extension lower.

    7. Object Number: 1853752 Size: SH
  7. Remove the rear bumper extension lower by hand, releasing the integral snaps (1) from the backside of the rear fascia.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1853752 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear bumper extension lower to the fascia with the 7 integral snaps (1).

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1465932 Size: SH
  2. Install the 6 bolts around the lower inside edge of the rear bumper extension lower.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (52 lb in).

  3. Install the rear bumper energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement.
  4. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  5. Remove the protective tape.
  6. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
