Preliminary Procedures

  1. Place the folding top in the service position. Refer to Folding Top Retainer Strap Installation Position.
  2. Remove the front section of the headliner. Refer to Roof Retractable Front Headlining Trim Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove folding top straps.
  4. Close and latch the top.

Folding Top Rear Latch Bolt (Qty: 2)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tip
Move the latch up toward the top of the vehicle approximately 2 mm (0.079 in) and tighten.

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Folding Top Rear Latch

Tip

    • With the headliner still removed, cycle the top 1-2 times and listen for any noises. If a popping sound is heard from either latch during top movement, adjust the latch back down 1 mm (0.039 in) at a time until the popping noise is gone.
    • After adjustments, drive the vehicle to verify the adjustment is resolved.
    • Fully close the folding top after repairs.
