Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  2. Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning in the Preface section.

    Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  4. Drain the fuel tank below the level of the fuel filler hose. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining.
  5. Remove the right rear wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  6. Remove the right rear wheelhouse Liner. Refer to Rear Inner Wheelhouse Replacement.
  7. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.

  8. Object Number: 2121477  Size: SH
  9. Remove the filler tube to chassis retaining bolts (6).
  10. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) line (2) from the quick connect fitting (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  11. Remove the retaining hose clamp (4).
  12. Disconnect the fuel filler tube (3) from the fuel filler hose (5).
  13. Manoeuvre the fuel filler tube (7) and remove from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel filler tube (7) to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the fuel filler tube (3) to the fuel filler hose (5).
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the retaining hose clamp (4) the fuel filler tube hose clamp (3) to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).
  5. Note: Listen for an audible click to confirm correct installation.

  6. Connect the evaporative emission (EVAP) line (2) to the quick connect fitting (1).
  7. Install the filler tube to chassis retaining bolts (6) and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
  8. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  9. Install the right rear wheelhouse Liner. Refer to Rear Inner Wheelhouse Replacement.
  10. Install the right rear wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
