Replacement Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning in the Preface section.

    Warning: Refer to Radiator Cap Removal Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Remove the filler cap.

    2. Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  2. Raise and support the front of the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.

  4. Remove the drain cock (1).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1949734 Size: SH
  1. Install the drain cock plug (1) ensuring a new O-ring is used and tighten to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
  2. Lower the vehicle.
  3. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  4. Inspect the cooling system for leaks.
