Removal Procedure
- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Command the fuel pump OFF with the scan tool.
- Open the bleed valve on the fuel pressure gage in order to bleed the remaining fuel from the fuel pressure gage.
- Remove the bleed hose from the fuel pressure gage.
- Disconnect the
AU-338 (2) fuel pressure gage from the
AU-465 (1). Wrap a shop towel around the fitting while connecting the gage
in order to avoid spillage.
- Disconnect the
AU-465 (1) fuel pressure test hose adapter to the fuel pressure connection. Wrap a shop towel around the fitting while connecting the
AU-465 (1)
in order to avoid spillage.
- Install the fuel pressure service connection dust cap to the fuel rail.
- Install the engine covers. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement.
Installation Procedure
Warning: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning in the Preface section.
Caution: Clean all of the following areas before performing any disconnections in order to avoid possible contamination in the system:
• | The fuel pipe connections |
• | The areas surrounding the connections |
- Remove the engine covers. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement.
- Remove the fuel pressure service connection dust cap from the fuel rail.
- Connect the
AU-465 (1) fuel pressure test hose adapter to the fuel pressure connection. Wrap a shop towel around the fitting while connecting the
AU-465 (1)
in order to avoid spillage.
- Connect the
AU-338 (2) fuel pressure gage to the
AU-465 (1). Wrap a shop towel around the fitting while connecting the gage in order to avoid spillage.
- Turn ON the ignition.
Warning: Do not drain the fuel into an open container. Never store the fuel in an open container due to the possibility of a fire or an explosion.
- Place the bleed hose of the fuel pressure gage into a suitable container.
- Open the bleed valve on the fuel pressure gage in order to bleed the air from the fuel pressure gage.
- Command the fuel pump ON with a scan tool.
- Close the bleed valve on the fuel pressure gage.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
