Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
Note: Hold the brake hose (1) with a suitable tool whilst disconnecting the brake pipe fitting (4) to prevent damage to the brake pipe fitting (4).
Note: Install a rubber cap or plug to the brake pipe fitting (4) in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Note: Install a rubber cap or plug to the exposed brake caliper (2) in order to prevent brake fluid loss and/or contamination.
Note: The copper brake hose sealing washers (3) may be stuck to the brake caliper (2) and/or the brake hose (1).
