For 1990-2009 cars only
- Install a suitable hood brace to the vehicle.
- Loosen the hood hinge to dash and cowl panel brace retaining bolts (1).
- Loosen the hood hinge to hood retaining bolts (1).
- Adjust the hood to obtain an even gap between 2.25 mm to 3.75 mm on both sides between the hood and the fenders, so that the hood is flush with both fenders on the front edge.
- Adjust the hood to obtain an even gap between 2 mm to 6 mm between the hood and the front bumper fascia so that the hood is flush with the front bumper fascia.
- Tighten the hood hinge to hood retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Tighten the hood hinge to dash and cowl panel brace retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
Note: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
