Removal Procedure

    Note:  When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Support the rear compartment lid with a suitable brace.
  2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement.
  3. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel replacement. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement.
  4. Remove the rear compartment lid lock actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 1937280 Size: SH
  5. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable to rear seat back panel retaining screw (1)

    6. Object Number: 1937294 Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable to rear compartment retaining clips (1).
  7. Remove the rear compartment lid release cable (2) from the rear compartment.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1937294 Size: SH
  1. Position the rear compartment lid release cable (2) in the rear compartment.
  2. Install the rear compartment lid release cable to rear compartment retaining clips (2).

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1937280 Size: SH
  3. Install the rear compartment lid release cable to rear seat back panel retaining screw (1) and tighten to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
  4. Install the rear compartment lid lock actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement.
  5. If re-programming is required. Refer to Control Module References.
  6. Install the rear compartment side trim panel replacement. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement.
  7. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement.
  8. Remove the suitable brace from the vehicle.
