Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the generator bracket assembly. Refer to Generator Bracket Replacement in Engine Electrical.

    2. Object Number: 1554357 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector (1).

    3. Object Number: 1554362 Size: SH
  3. Remove the CMP sensor mounting bolt (1).
  4. Remove the CMP sensor assembly (2, 3) from the engine front cover.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1554362 Size: SH

    Important: Before installing the camshaft sensor assembly, apply a small amount of clean motor oil to the O-ring (6).

  1. Install the CMP sensor assembly (2, 3) to the engine front cover.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the CMP sensor mounting bolt (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the camshaft position mounting bolts 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the CMP sensor electrical connector (1).
  4. Install the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Bracket Replacement in Engine Electrical.
