Affected: 1989 SUNBIRD AND GRAND AM MODELS
Two new sections have been added to all General Motors Sunbird and Grand Am Service Manuals. These sections are:
11-1 Unibody Collision Repair 11-2 Welded Panel Replacement
These sections provide information on the proper procedure to use when performing collision or welded panel replacement. Section 11-2 can also be used to identify the location and application of welds and sealers when diagnosing unusual water leak or squeak concerns.
After you have had a chance to review these new sections, we would like your feedback. Do you find the information:
- Useful - Understandable - Complete
Any other comments on these new sections would also be appreciated. Send your comments to:

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
