  1. Visually inspect the following fuses:
  2. • The BCM BATT Fuse
    • The IPC/BCM ACC Fuse
    • The A/C BFC Fuse
    • The INT LPS Fuse
    • The CRUISE Fuse
  3. Refer to Fasten Safety Belt Warning Not Operating Properly in order to diagnose the seat belt indicator.
  4. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System in order to access the body control module (BCM).
  5. If the headlamps ON chime does not sound with the headlamp switch in the PARK position or the HEAD position, inspect for an open in CKT 9 between the right IP wiring harness junction block and the BFC.
  6. If no open exists in CKT 9 between the right IP wiring harness junction block and the BCM, replace the BCM.
  7. The Turn Signal Reminder Chime will activate (Oldsmobile only) when turn signals are active for approximately 3/4 mile distance travelled.
  8. Replace the BCM if no indicators are illuminated. Refer to the following procedures:

    •  Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System
  10. Inspect for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation.
  11. A broken wire inside of the insulation may cause a system failure, but prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage test.

  12. Inspect for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment.
  13. Improper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment may affect the integrity of other systems.
