- Visually inspect the following fuses:
- Refer to
Fasten Safety Belt Warning Not Operating Properly
in order to diagnose the seat belt indicator.
- Refer to
Body Control Module Replacement
in Body Control System in order to access the body
control module (BCM).
- If the headlamps ON chime does not sound with the headlamp switch
in the PARK position or the HEAD position, inspect for an open in CKT 9
between the right IP wiring harness junction block and the BFC.
- If no open exists in CKT 9 between the right IP wiring
harness junction block and the BCM, replace the BCM.
- The Turn Signal Reminder Chime will activate (Oldsmobile only)
when turn signals are active for approximately 3/4 mile distance travelled.
- Replace the BCM if no indicators are illuminated.

- Inspect for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the
insulation.
A broken wire inside of the insulation may cause a system failure, but
prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage test.
- Inspect for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment.
Improper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment may affect
the integrity of other systems.
