Power Door Locks Inoperative - One Motor LF- Door Lock Inoperative

Perform the body control module (BCM) diagnostic system check.

Are any door lock DTCs present?

  1. Exchange the drivers door unlock relay with a known good relay.
  2. Activate the door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the LF door lock actuator operate correctly?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Replace the drivers door unlock relay.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Power Door Locks System Check

  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the left IP junction block connector C3 terminal C2 and ground.
  3. Actuate the door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the left IP junction block connector C3 terminal C2 and ground.
  3. Actuate the door lock switch to the lock position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Disconnect the LF door lock actuator electrical connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between connector terminal A and ground.
  3. Actuate the door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Connect a test lamp between connector terminal B and ground.
  2. Actuate the door lock switch to the lock position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 295 between the LF door lock actuator and the left IP junction block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the left IP junction block connector C1 terminal C10 and ground.
  3. Actuate the door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 13

Replace the left IP junction block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the BCM connector C3 terminal A2 and ground.
  3. Actuate the door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 356 between the BCM and the left IP junction block.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Power Door Locks System Check

Inspect for a poor connection at the BCM connector C3. If OK, replace the BCM.

Repair the open in CKT 295 between the left IP junction block and the LF door lock actuator.

  1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the door lock actuator that does not operate.
  3. Connect a test lamp between terminal A of the connector and ground.
  4. Actuate either door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Connect a test lamp between terminal B of the connector and ground.
  2. Actuate either door lock switch to the lock position.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the door lock actuator.

Repair the open in CKT 294 between the non-operating door lock actuator and the left IP junction block.

  2. Actuate either door lock switch to the LOCK position.

Replace the door lock actuator.
