Rear Side Door Window Switch Replacement Pontiac

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 396156  Size: SH
  1. Pry at the top of the rear door power window switch (1) using a flat blade screwdriver.
  2. Disconnect the wire harness connector (2) from the rear door power window switch.
  3. Remove the switch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 396156  Size: SH
  1. Position and connect the wire harness connector (2) to the rear door power window switch (1).
  2. Install the rear door power window switch (1).

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the lower closeout cover retaining screws.
  2. Remove the lower closeout cover.
  3. Pry upward with a flat-bladed tool.

  4. Disengage the retaining clips and remove the rear door power switch bezel assembly (1) from the vehicle.
  5. Disengage the rear door power window switch retainers.
  6. Remove the rear door power window switch from the bezel assembly.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connector.
  2. Install the rear door power window switch to the bezel assembly.
  3. Ensure the retainers lock into place.

  4. Install the rear door power switch bezel assembly (1) to the vehicle.
  5. Ensure the retainers lock into place.

  6. Install the lower closeout cover.
  7. Ensure the retainers lock into place.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the lower closeout cover retaining bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the lower closeout cover retaining bolts to 2.5 N·m (55 lb in).
