Circuit Description

This circuit supplies the Passlock™ data to the body control module (BCM) from the Passlock™ sensor, CKT 1836.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

All of the following conditions must be met:

    • Ignition 0 is active.
    • The Passlock™ code does not equal the learned key code during the engine start for 3 consecutive key cycles or for 1 second at any time while driving.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • The BCM stores DTC B2960 in the BCM memory.
    • DTC B2960 will be set under the following conditions:
       - On an attempted start, the car will not start and the security light flashes for 10 minutes
       - While driving:
   • The SECURITY indicator illuminates
   • The vehicle will start on the next key ON

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The BCM goes to sleep and reinitializes with the fault cleared.
    • All of the BCM history codes will be cleared after 100 ignition cycles (from OFF to ON) with no current codes active during the 100 ignition cycles.
    • Use a scan tool.

Diagnostic Aids

If the DTC is a history DTC, the problem may be intermittent. Perform the tests shown while wiggling the wiring and connectors. This will cause the malfunction to appear.
