When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
2004 Grand Am and Aleros equipped with a 3.4 LA1 engine may exhibit a condition of an intermittent stall, rough idle, engine misfire or MIL with code P0300. This condition may be caused by one or more of the fuel injector wires chaffing and grounding on the coil mounting bracket. The wires may be protruding from the injector wire harness as it branches off of the main engine wire harness by the coil pack.
If you experience this condition, repair the wire, tape all injector wires together in the harness covering and tape close the injector harness wire covering.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
