In response to dealer requests, Pontiac Division will begin providing monthly, to all dealers, changes made in the Labor Time Guides in a bulletin format, November and December changes attached. These changes are the result of dealer "Requests For Review" now being handled by C-P-C Technical Service Activity.
All "Requests for Review" that result in change to the published Labor Time Guide will be reported directly to the dealer submitting the request via a letter (refer to Letter #1) . In addition, if the review does not result in a change, an explanation will be forwarded to that dealer only (refer to Letter #2) . These updates will be included in future revisions as printed and at that time it is recommended that you dispose of the paper copy.
In the case of past model year updates it is recommended that this bulletin be retained with the appropriate model year Labor Time Guide as a complete revision will not be provided.
Also, included in this bulletin are copies of a revised "Request For Review" form which should be used immediately. This form includes a new mailing address:
CPC GROUP TECHNICAL SERVICES ACTIVITY 30007 VAN DYKE AVE. WARREN, MI 48090 ATTN: LABOR TIME GUIDE ACTIVITY REQUEST FOR REVIEW
Please destroy all other forms and use the included forms to copy when necessary.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
