INSIDE DOOR HANDLE TO DOOR TRIM CONTACT
This condition may be repaired by using the following procedure:
1. Remove door trim panel.
2. Using a 3/16" drill bit, drill out the inside handle UPPER attaching rivet.
3. Carefully pry the handle assembly away from the lock module backing plate, enough to install a 1/4" standard nut (5 mm thick) to be used as a shim between the handle and module back plate and position the nut in place.
4. Reattach the handle to module back plate using a 3/16" X 3/8 grip range pop (R) rivet, GM P/N 2477054, Emhardt #SD66BSLF, (or equivalent). Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
5. Reinstall door trim as required.
