Important: Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) for column-mounted
BTSI. Refer to Disabling the SIR and Enabling the SIR in Supplemental Inflatable
Restraint System
Use the J 35616-A in order to inspect or probe a terminal in a diagnostic
procedure. Use of the J 35616-A ensures that following conditions exist:
• | No damage to the terminal will occur. |
• | Terminal contact tension is sufficient. |
Refer to Checking Terminal Contact in Wiring Systems if terminal contact
seems insufficient.

- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
- Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the stop lamp switch
connector C2 terminal A (CKT 1439) and ground.

and ground.
