Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle Floor Shift

Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 293254 Size: SH
  1. Align the block tooth on the steering shaft assembly (1) to the 12 o'clock position.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the "lock" position.

    3. Object Number: 293252 Size: SH
  3. Install the wave washer (1) onto the steering shaft assembly.

    4. Object Number: 322951 Size: SH

    Important: The new SIR coil assembly will be pre-centered. Do not remove the centering tab from the new SIR coil assembly until the installation is complete.

  4. Align the SIR coil assembly (4) with the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1).
  5. Slide the new SIR coil assembly (4) onto the steering shaft assembly (2).
  6. Firmly seat the retaining ring (3) into the groove on the steering shaft assembly (2).
  7. Remove the centering tab from the new SIR coil assembly (4).
  8. Discard the centering tab.

    9. Object Number: 322946 Size: SH
  9. Reconnect the SIR coil assembly connector to the turn signal switch assembly connector.
  10. Attach new wire harness straps (2) to the wire harness assembly (1) and the steering column.
  11. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

  9. Reconnect the SIR coil assembly connector to the turn signal switch assembly connector.
  10. Attach new wire harness straps (2) to the wire harness assembly (1) and the steering column.
  11. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
